Celebrating Change is a year-long project that teaches you how to tell stories from your life using memoir, poetry, and film techniques including stop animation.

The programme will consist of ten monthly in-person workshops at East Durham Trust’s Arts Cafe in Peterlee,  which will look at filming and editing using an ipad as well as learning to use videos, photos, and writing to share your story about your life in your own words.

These sessions start from Monday 21st of February (12-3pm), which is a taster session for those interested in getting involved, and run every third Monday of the month. As well, there will be 10 monthly online workshops on creative memoir writing every fourth Monday of the month starting Monday 28th February (1 -3pm).

There will be 1:1 mentoring throughout the programme to help you make your own digital story, as well as an iPad provided for each participant for a year to allow you to take part from home.

This is a fantastic opportunity to share your story, meet new people via our Facebook Group and workshops and learn new skills. Contact Jess on 0191 569 3511/ email: jess.hunt@eastdurhamcreates.co.uk for more information and to register.

Don’t worry if you have missed out on any sessions, you can still get involved and take part in the rest of the programme. Join the Facebook group here.
