Film Festival

With a heavy heart and in light of the ongoing situation regarding Coronavirus/Covid-19 we have taken the decision to postpone ALL of the remaining Film Festival events until further notice. This decision has not been taken lightly and has been reached in consultation with our community groups and venues who have co-programmed the events. These events are intended to be reprogrammed in the future.

These events are:

  • Northern Inventors on Thursday 19th March

  • Pride at Trimdon on Saturday 21st March

  • Cinema by the Sea on Sunday 22nd March

  • Battle of Orgreave on Monday 23rd March

  • Still the Enemy Within on Thursday 26th March

  • Downton Abbey on Friday 27th March

  • Carnival of Brass on Saturday 28th March

If you have purchased tickets for any of the events above then please get in touch with us. These will still be valid for reprogrammed events in the future.

Thank you for your continued support of the East Durham Creates project.

Copy of WELCOME (1)

East Durham Creates is proud to present the FIRST ever East Durham Film Festival. Our festival brings together art and film in a series of quirky pop up immersive events entirely programmed by our local people. The community, led by a steering group of community representatives, were asked to share stories of their North and shape each event.

What does that mean? An eclectic month long celebration of wonderfully unique film events featuring everything from music to art workshops, from dance to heritage footage.

Please note a booking fee applies when booking through Tickets Ignite. 30% of Tickets Ignite profits from booking fees go into the Ignite Fund. Artists can apply to the Ignite Fund to get funding for their work.
