The next stage in the exciting family arts engagement project…
Following on from Fishes and Wishes, Make The Sun Shine in Horden was the next stage in the Barn at Easington’s family digital arts engagement project.
Families teamed up with the Barn artists on an exciting interactive story journey, helping to tell the story as well as making illustrations out of found and natural materials.
Families were encouraged to watch a tutorial video, and then attempt to make their own sun with found materials. The Barn at Easington encouraged all participating families to find time to go to their local woods, beaches and outside space to create the artworks, but equally, artworks could be made in spaces nearer to home. Completed suns were then posted to our Facebook Page, alongside a message telling us what the individual/ family will do to make the sun shine in summer, this ranged from a random act of kindness, to helping the environment, or to helping thier family, friends and neighbours.
